Bottled. A golden beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw and malt, and so is the flavor, leading to a bitter and slightly metallic finish.

An excellent Bohemian pils. I purchased this beer at the Pivni Galerie in Holesovice at the recommendation of a Canadian regular the owner had asked to help me. He said the beer is named for a wandering monk who decided to stop travelling and settled in Bohemia. The beer is gold with a quickly fading white head. Hops aroma and substantial hop bitterness, as well as light caramel in the flavor. Full bodied and excellent palate.

Clear golden liquid, quite carbonated; slim, fluffy snow-white head leaving flimsy lace. Very sweet caramelsyrup in the nose, liqueurish initially, then caramelized grain - which it is, no doubt. Bit of honey as well. Fresh bitterish, grassy hoptaste, only very slowly, almost reluctantly releasing some malt sweetness. At odds with the nose. Finishes hard-bitterish, as walnut peel. Very refreshing Pilsener, light bodied. Good Pilsener. Rather new brewer? Underestimated, as I had to add the brewery. Imported via Beermania-Beer Galleries.
