15/9/2023. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Niigata rating #10. Pours colourless with no head. Aroma of fragrant rice, citrus, apple, melon, hints of bubblegum and soap. Medium sweetness, boozy bitterness. Medium body, smooth, no carbonation. Decent.

300ml bottle as part of a delivery from the Japan Centre, London and drunk at home, turns out this will be my last rate in my old flat of 5+ years. Clear with the slightest yellowish tinge. Watermelon and bubblegum on the nose - wadnt expecting that - with rice aromas pushed to the background. Big melon falvoutlrs on the tongue - it is sweet at first but dries considerably - with the itially well-hidden alcohol coming out mid-sip. Slight body with a short finish. Refined and more complex than many sakes I've had.

300ml bottle from Japan Centre. Clear with afew bubbless on top and aroma of rice, melon, booze. Taste is sweetish, rice, fruity, melon, with alcohol. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mellow warming alcohol finish. Nicely drinkable.

300ml bottle from Japan Centre. Clear with a hint of pale yellow colour, afew short-lived bubbles on top and aroma of rice, melon, fruity, citric note. Taste is sweetish, rice, caramel hint, and fruity, melon, with drying spicy booze. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, dry mellow boozy finish. Nicely drinkable.

Taster at Jam. Rich nose, a bit of vanilla, on the sweet side. Dry, peppery finish wherein the booze comes in. Decent.

Taster at Jam. Perfumy, fruity, funky nose, old mango, durian, stinky rotting fruit. Weird as hell, though also fascinating. Oily, clear. Big fruit flavor, tropical, estery. Really interesting, but not so likable.

Taster at Jam. Cloudy, oily, a bit water looking. Nose is icy citrus, esp. grapefruit, some alcohol present, rice crackers. flavor is definitely senbei rice crackers, even a bit salty, dry, crackery, with nice dry fruitiness.

Cup from Ponshu-kan. Fruity nose, citrus, ripe apples, minerals, pepper. Looks like water. Sweet and fruity, orange, melon. Soft, silky body, a bit thin. Pretty sweet for Niigata. Decent. Not so special.
