Cask gravity at SIBA BF South East 2011. Clear amber colour withlasting white head. Its a brown bitter that is properly bitter on the finish. Touch of tea on the flavour. But its a tasty standard bitter that is in fact bitter. Some deep orange fruit. Decent bitter.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Pours a lovely, rich gold with a foamy, white head. Nose of light caramel, some butterscotch. Flavor isn’t very great, some light toffee sweetness (very light) and plenty of drab, leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Bland finish, some leafy hops, bit of caramel or some kind of none-too-sweet candy, not much else. A little watery. Below average.

Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, EnglandClear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, hay notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, chocolate malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20101201]

(Bottle. Thanks to SaintMatty) Dark reddish brown colour with brief, bubbly head. Malty, roasted nose with caramel, dried fruit, raisins, dark rye bread and faint hints of left-over cold coffee. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, dark bread, figs, chocolate, hints of coffee and slightly dusty hops in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Quite tasty and well balanced. Would be interesting to try this cask conditioned.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars’ Hampshire Beer Festival, Bristol 2/05/2011. Near black with a slight tan head. Sweet, caramel and milk chocolate aroma with a hint of roastiness. Flavour had dark fruits, chocolate and some liquorice, before a dry, roasty finish. Very good.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with some weak hints of dark fruit. Fruity malty dark fruit and caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

Cask at Pigs Ear fest 2010. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head. Roasty aroma. Tastes coffee, chocolate, roasty, caramel, slightly sweet. Decent porter.

(Bottle. Thanks to SaintMatty) Pale yellow colour with huge, lasting, white head. Smoky, fruity nose with notes of beach wood smoke, citrus, lemon, white bread and wheat-flour dough. Wheat, smoky taste with citrus, grass, white bread and a light citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Smoke is more prominent in the aroma than on the palate, but the mix of smoky and citric aromas and taste makes for an intruiging combination. Quite nice
