Pours black, with a long lasting thick tan head. Roasty aroma, cocoa powder, bitter chocolate. The flavor is chocolate and roast malt delivered on a smooth dry palate. Enough roast malt bitterness to keep this from being a sweet, hard to drink stout. After a sample, we ordered a pitcher.

Pours a medium gold int he body with a medium white head. Faint hop aroma, supportive sweet malt underneath. Well done for an English IPA, but I’d like to get more earthy hop flavor than this one had. Overall, nice and dry, not overly hopped. The site here doesn’t differentiate between the British and American style of IPA so this will probably fall to the lower percentiles in comparison. Cleanly brewed, well crafted.

Fairly clear medium gold body small white head. Light malt aroma, little hops. The hops make an appearance as a touch of bitterness in the flavor, but this one really comes across as a bit sweet for what I expect in a Bitter. They serve them a bit cold for an authentic British Pub, but they ar working on it. But a very drinkable brew, well crafted.

From tronraner, thank you. I believe this is the first beer I have ever had that was brewed in Tennessee, and it happens to be one with a name I can’t pronounce. It pours a water-y black color, meaning its all black but I do not get the feel of "motor oil" black. It’s probably because it looks a bit dead with almost no head or lacing. With a lot of stirring and vigorous shaking of the glass a nice tan foam appears, unfortunately even that quickly fades. Both taste and aroma are relatively similar and simple. They both have positive aspects of caramel, chocolate, milkiness, and light roast. All the good stuff you want in a nice porter. However, there are a few off putting aspects. There is a mineral quality more present in the flavor and a soapy-bean aspect more apparent in the aroma and aftertaste. But otherwise its light and easy drinking, leaves a long aftertaste with bitter chocolate. The mineral quality is felt in the mouthfeel as well, would like to see this a but thicker. It’s nice enough. As it warms the negative aspects become more apparent and the mineral mouthfeel grows as well,

12 oz. bottle from Suttree. Pour is orange red with only a slight haze, and a 1/2 inch white head. Aroma is a little piney, and a little biscuity malt. Taste is more of the aroma, piney hops and biscuit malt. There is a bit of a sour - bitter hop finish, which is quite nice. Good solid palate. Overall tasted somewhere between and English and American Pale Ale, regardless, really well done and tasty.

12 oz. bottle from Suttree, enjoyed with tjthresh. Pour is brownish-ruby, very wispy tan head. Aroma of roast coffee, a bit of malt. Taste of thin, slightly roast coffee. A bit of malt watered down iced coffee (thanks for lifting my phrase Tom). Thin body made this drinkable, but not terribly exciting. Thanks for this one Phil, always love trying new beers!

Bottle. Sour malt, walnut, and charcoal aroma. Dark black-brown with moderate head. Creamy chocolate malt and charcoal flavor. Mild bitter finish. Decent but just a bit heavy on the carbon flavor for me.

Bottle. Light malt and pine hops aroma. Copper color wtih moderate head. Pine hops and light caramel malt flavor. A nice solid beer.

Bottle from brewery. Light malt aroma (also a burnt rubber aroma - apparently must be something with their bottling as all their lighter bottled beers have this aroma). Golden yellow with small head. Creamy malt flavor - decent body. A nice beer especially for the style.

Bottle. Sour malt aroma with a hint of rubber. Yellow amber with small head. Slightly sweet barley malt flavor with a moderate hops finish. A solid beer - enjoyable to drink.
