Draft @ Copenhagen Beerfestival 2010. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice aroma. Roasted malty licorice and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice finish.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and some spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, and straw, leading to a bitter finish. The body is light.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear nutty brown with a beige head. Subtle roast aroma. Light body, subtle roast, a little licorice. Dry finish. A simple and pleasant little beer. 310312

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange to brown with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty to breadish. Light liqourice and toasted malty. Toasted malty and light breadish. Bitter and dry finish.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Clear reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and caramel. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 310312

Bottle @ FOneFan. Clear dark amber/brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, little caramel and a little nutty. Flavour is malt, bread, caramel, little sweet and a little watery.

Bottle @ Fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, bread, straw, coffee notes and hops. Medium bodied and medium carbonation.

Black color. Aroma of roasted malt and some cardboard. Despite the unimpressive aroma, the mouthfeel is very smooth, round, quite sweet, good chocolate flavor, good balance, and no cognac.

Black color, with a generous compact and persistent beige head. At first, the aroma strikes for the strong presence of apples and apple skins; then followed by roasted malts, and booze. Good body strength, the mouthfeel is even a bit oily; strong flavor of dark chocolate and roasted malt, a bit salty, with a touch of liquorice; but also an evident boozy character; the alcohol has an obvious impact on the mouthfeel, and contributes with the high bitterness to a piquant final, that was even astringent at first impression.
Boozy, but without the expected characteristics from Jack Daniels, the light vanilla feeling seems to come more from the chocolatey malts than from the bourbon. Rough but appreciated (actually, the first beer in 2 months! It ought to be appreciated)

Tasting at Papsø’s
Hazy dark brown color, with red hue, and small head. Earthy and dusty aroma, no smoke. Some flavor of caramel, malt, smoked malt, with some sourness, but the smoke character is very low; ordinary bitterness. Drinkable, but a very rough, imprecise beer.
