Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dark fruity, moderate yeasty, spicy, dark spices, coriander, licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, dusty, sweet candy yeasty, spicy, mocca notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110208]

Bottle. It pours a clear, dark amber to brown body, topped by a small, beige head. Pleasant aroma with loads of dried fruits and a good dash of licorice. Some roasted malts, sweetness and a spiced touch. Some notes of hops too. The flavor is pretty much the same, pretty nice that is. Some tobacco blends in. Full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated. The finish has tobacco, roasted malts, dried fruits, a spiced, herbal touch and licorice notes. Overall, a beer that tops every expectation that I’ve ever had for Vejle Bryghus. Bottle @ Odense Smagning, Feb. 2011. Pours dark amber with a small creamy white head- Nose is rye-bread, caramel and anis. Flavor is spices. Anis and a bit of caramel. Medium bodied. Well made.
