From a bomber courtesy of nike! From the beginning I knew this was going to be a good beer. It had a gentle aroma of mildy roasty dark american lager. It appeared to be brownish black at first but upon further inspection I see its more looking like root beer. Nice head on the pour. First taste is a little tart and reminds me of some wild beers I’ve had in the past, which is good from my point of view. Pleasant easy fun. Good smooth flow from lips to throat, yummy actually. A fine example of a gentle friendly dark american lager, but hey, now I see its actually under the dunkel style. Either one, dunkel or dark lager, this was a good beer to be remembered. Finish? What finsh? It was gone before I knew it! Yummy! Would LOVE to have this beer again. Lovely overall beer drinken experience. THANKS BRIAN! THIS BEER ROCKED! No sign of rude alky anytime during the session. When I think about good dark beer, I think of beer that comes across like this. I guess some thanks go out to Ginny as well!

Bottle. Maroonish brown, clear. Inoffensive, easy to drink lager that appears darker than most. Light body. Ordinary.

Bomber from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown color with a thin, creamy offwhite head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of nutty notes, grainy malts, raisins and a sweet malty finish. The taste is nuts, grainy malts, faint raisin notes and a bit of honey. A little on the thin side.

On tap at the St. Benedict Oktoberfest on 09/17/2010. Just called Weeping Radish Fest, so these probably need to be merged. Mostly clear copper body with a small creamy tan head. Sweet bready malt aroma. Sweet bready and light nutty flavor. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle at the World Beer Festival - Richmond on 06/12/2010. Clear golden body with a small white head. Sweet grain and pale malt aroma. Sweet grain and pale malt flavor with light bitterness. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Handpump keg at the World Beer Festival - Richmond on 06/12/2010. Clear golden amber body with a small white head. Sweet peach aroma. Sweet peach flavor with some light malt. Light body with moderately high carbonation.

22 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. The earlier ratings are atrocious so hopefully this new revived version is much better. Pours a clear goldn color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of pale malts and perfumey, floral hops. The taste is grainy malts, some corny notes and caramel with some grassy hops and an odd note in the finish. Medium bodied. More of an amber lager than a kolsch but still decent. 6/7/10

Caramel and toffee nose, with a metallic tinge. Cloudy orange, thick yellow head, poor retention. Lightly sweet unmalted grain initially, tinny at midpalate. Finishes more bitter with rotten cherries. Not the greatest maerzen or vienna, but drinkable and still better than macro swill.
