Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thick white head. The aroma has notes of vegetables and alcohol as well as light notes of oxidation. The flavor is sweet with notes of honey, malt, alcohol, flowers, and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Very strongly spiced porter. Intense cinnamon and what tastes like mace. Bone dry finish bitter spice finish. Hard work! Too dry and too spicy be far!

Unusually thin palate for an RIS. An odd mix of slightly smoky malt mixed with coca cola, herbs, dandelion and burdock (showing my age now). Dry medicinal finish. Oddness abounds, too much so!

A very lively beer! Frothy and dry. Typical porter taste with an undertone of sourness. Nicely balanced with with a hint of acidic cherry. Malty finish with a trace of smoke.

4th December 2007 Pigs Ear Festival, Hackney. Sweet toffee and with lovely notes of Port. No bitterness. Very well hidden alcohol. Lip smacking and gorgeous! 2011 Note - the best beer Pitfiled ever did imho. Still have a few of these aging away.
Gosh, 17 years pass quickly. More oxidised of course but still rich in the dried fruits department. Good caramel - toffee. Still very drinkable. .

25th November 2007 Fairly flat orangey looking pale beer. Distinctly sweet and fruity start gives way to malt and a slighty bitter finish with noticeable alcohol. 3.5 19th November 2017 A nine or ten year old bottle from the deepest cellar recesses! Almost clear gold - amber, no head. Smooth palate, no carbonation to speak of. Smooth sweetish malts, light dried fruits. Fine cognac, light though. Trace of sherry. Smooth finish. Has aged very well. Very sippable.

Another slice of the 2007 vintage. Don't think this has swerved much from 6 years ago. Cognac, sherry a little dried fruits. Completely flat but sipping well.
