Description
Set up in 1981 as Pitfield Brewery operating from 8 Pitfield Street, N1 before moving to 4 Hoxton Square, N1 in 1986. Briefly relocated to Stourbridge following a merger with Premier Midland Ales, becoming Pitfield's Premier Brewing Co in 1990 but in 1991 the company went into liquidation.

Revived in 1996 as Pitfield's Brewery at 14 Pitfield Street, N1 before relocating outside of London to Great Horkesley, Essex in 2006 and then to Moreton, Ongar in 2007.

Martin, Pitfield's brewer/owner retired in 2012 to run a pub in Newmarket. Andy Skene bought the business and continued to brew Pitfield's beers alongside his own Dominion beers. This ceased in 2018.

Bottled. Near black colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some caramel, mild ashes, toasted bread and some mild earthyness. Flavour is quite much the same in a rather pleasant balance.

Bottled. Golden colour with small white head. Aroma is fruits, wheat, mild yeast as well as some slight spices. Flavour is wheat, fruit, earth and some mild herbal/spicy notes as well.

Bottled. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is wood, some mild grains and also mild spices. Flavour is floral and mildly fruity hops along with some wooden notes as well as mild caramel.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thick beige head. The aroma has notes of peated smoke, iodine, wood, spices, and fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and fruit, as well as a bit of yeast, leading to a dry finish.
