(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Very delicate - almost vinous - aroma of roasted malt. Solid body with sweet, roasted malt and some notes of dried fruit. Warming alcohol in the finish with some hops does it for me: this is an excellent Bock. 061106

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, fully golden with a small, off-white head. Sweetish, malty aroma. Rather full body with a very solid malt base - sweetish malt - and a warming alcohol in the finish. But not as alcoholic as the style often can be. After a long drive to Bamberg, this was an excellent reward. 061106

Bottle. Hazy amber/orange color with a fine lacing head. Soft malty flavors, very light yeast and ripe fruit. Finishes with a pleasant bitter hop zing. Medium body and bready aftertaste.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow / golden color with a big frothy white head. Aroma is very wheaty, with yeast and banana. The mouthful is very sweet, with some fresh wheat.

(bottle) Cloudy yellow colour with a big and stable foamy white head. Shy yeasty and wheaty aroma with some banana-fruity aspects. Light-sweet flavour, light body, sparkling carbonation. Slim and quite short light clovy finish. Unspectacular but fairly drinkable and refreshing Weizen.

Bottle: Pale golden coloured, medium-sized fluffy white head; sweet malty, a bit cardboardy nose with some grassy (caused by extracts ??) hoppiness; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied; grassy, metallic finish. Disappointing, by franconian standards.............

From old notes, 2006, when I visited Bamberg and stayed in Maisel's Gasthof. Pale cloudy yellow colour, nice small white head. Aroma's: wheaty sour, sweetish with light banana. Flavour is light sweet, wheaty. Light bodied. Rather high carbonation. Finishes with hints of spices and citrus.

Draught. Cheap lager aroma. Clear golden colour. Small, white, soapy and semi-stable head. The flavour is also pretty standard, a bit watery, hint of aroma hops. Medium bitterness, long and slightly rough. Boring.

Bottle. Refreshing banana aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Small stable head. The flavour is OK, refreshing, slightly wheaty and citric. Yeasty aftertaste. Rather standard, but nice wheat beer.
