Test vom 22.3.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 6,2,3,2,9,1 - 2,50

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a foamy off-white, non persistent head. Slightly sweet toas-malty aroma with caramel and herbal, slightly metallic hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with moderate to crispy carbonation. Toasty, malty, also a bit papery taste with notes of caramel and very shy fruity notes; moderately dry, bitter, herbal hoppy finish with a touch of cardboard. Still somewhat drinkable.

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a fluffy, foamy white head. Light-sweet, pale malty aroma with herbal, slightly grassy hops. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft to medium carbonation. Soft malty base with rather strong and a bit imbalanced herbal notes; dry, slightly malty, bitter hoppy finish. A bit average but still drinkable Pilsener.

(bottle, from Koelschtrinker) Cloudy, orange colour with a fluffy foamy, slightly off-white head. Sweet, moderately wheaty and yeasty-fruity (citrus, banana) aroma with light clovy notes. Slightly sweet, minimal sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Moderate wheat- and fruit-character, slightly yeasty taste; light sweet and slightly sour finish with a whiff of cloves. Average Hefeweizen. Obviously contract-brewed by Bärenbräu in Herborn.

6/11/10/5/9/9

Bottle: Copper coloured, mid-sized firm and creamy head, visible carbonation; sweet malt (plus a touch of toasted malt) and honey in the nose; mild sweetish-bitter flavour with a very light acidity, light bodied; mild, sweet-malty finish, combined with a light bitterness and a very faint metallic tinge. Decent Bier...........

Bottle: Pale golden with a stable, fluffy head, that sticks to the glass; sweet-grainy nose with a vegetable-like fruitinedd; moderate bitter-sweetish flavour, light bodied; fruity, dryish bitter-sweet finish. Despite the odd aroma a tasty and quite well quaffable Koelsch......

Bottle. Golden with a green tint, foamy white head. Fresh grassy and herbal hops. Medium straw malt body, a hint of fruits, fairly aromatic hops in the balance flowery, grassy. Dry finish. Sparkly mouthfeel. Would have guessed this was a pils, but a nice one at that.

Bottle, thanks MoritzF! Beautifull red amber, cap of golden lacing head. Wild honey, heather and light roasted aroma. Fruity malt base, light roast and caramel, apples, herbal finish. Body is a tad too light and wanders off into papery notes. Berrylike aftertaste. Smooth wellagered mouthfeel. Give it a bit more body and a hint hoparoma and it will be world class.
