Amber, clear, dense thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - soft malts, light aroma
Taste - caramel malt, some pale toffee, some soft bitter bit citrus hops, easy, refreshing, then biscuity malts come thorough in the finish
Palate - thinnish body but some oiliness, good texture for abv. Finish - some nice digestive biscuit with a light bitter linger, slight mineral edge
Overall - The cask is far better than the bottle

Gravity Dispense at White Horse Parsons Green, Old Ale Festival - 23/11/12. Clear dark golden, no head. Nose is toffee, butter popcorn, caramel malts, sweet sugars. Taste comprises caramel, sweet sugars, a little butter, touch of booze, hint of wood. Full bodied, slightly cloying, no carbonation lending towards a sweet finish. A decent barley wine.

Cask at The White Horse Old Ale fest 2012, Parsons Green, London. A golden/amber coloured pour with virtually no head. Sweet, boozy, caramel aroma. Tastes incredibly sweet, syrupy, caramel, fruity. Not really my thing, it was far too sweet.

Half-pint, hand-pulled at the Firs Club, Codsall on 17 Nov 2012. Very dark body: almost black in colour, with a good, deep biege/tan head of foam. The nose and taste were simular, dark chocolate and ground coffee being the main flavours I found. medium bodied for the style, neither rich or watery, just about right. The beer finishes with a mild bitterness that sets the mouth off towards a hop dryness and you wanting another gulp of the brew.

Half-pint, hand-pulled at the Firs Club, Codsall on 17 Nov 2012. Although Iโve had this at the brewery pub years back I couldnโt really remember anything about it: I still donโt. Light amber body with a thin white head. Aroma was fairly weak: malty mostly, but after the initial caramel hints a fruity, more hoppy smell arrives. The taste is also malts initially with a fruitier and dry hoppy underbelly. Pleasant enough and my first beer at the Real Ale Festival the club was holding. A good solid session bitter with nothing that is going to upset anyone with strong or powerful flavours.

Cask at GBBF 2012, London. Pours clear, bright gold with a light, white foam head. Boozy caramel nose, some ripe fruits. Hugely sweet flavor with rich caramel and toasted sugars. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Very sweet and warming to finish, lightly syrupy, some stewed apples, more caramel. Nice beer.

GBBF. 9.0% abv. Hazy gold - amber beer. Little white head. Smooth palate, a little soft and a little dry. Sweet marmalade. A trace of sweet caramel in the soft malts. A little honey. Smooth finish. An easy drinking and sweet barleywine.

50cl bottle. BBF 080513. Clear golden, frothy, white head, bubbly. Fruity, citrusy, herbal aroma, some plastic as well. Flavor has white bread, hops, caramel, citrus. Slight harshness in finish. Refreshing, decent golden ale. Mt.hood works ok here.
