This outstanding brewery, run by Ian Bradley, is where Bluebird Bitter is made. This 3.6% session beer won Supreme Champion Beer of Britain 1998 at the Great British Beer Festival Olympia London and has continued to be awarded accolades of recent years.
To the pure waters of the Coniston hills - add the finest Challenger hops and wonderfully roasted pale and crystal malts.
Allow the Coniston Brewing Company to use all their skill and instinctive know-how to create what must be described as the finest fully matured cask conditioned Ales.

Bottle @ Y.N.W.A , 2011. Pours ruby copper with a small creamy white head. Nose is citrus, yeast and breadcrust. Dry and hoppy flavor. Citrus and grain.

Bottle 500ml.Light unclear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, dusty hops, dry grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20110129]

Cask. A deep red beer with no head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and roasted malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Pours hazy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has notes of grassy, piny hops. Taste is light bitter and sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle @ Ulfborg Weekend, Jan 2011. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Dry, bitter citrussy nose and flavor with a bit of rubber and bread.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a pale amber with a slight haze and a small white head. Fat juicy hop aroma with some citrus. Light body, sweet fruitiness with a dry finish. No real bitterness though. 290111

Cask at NWAF, 2011. Amber pour, no head. Rich toffee aromas with orchard fruits and caramel. Toffee, treacle and crisp red apple flavours. Good alcohol burn. Bitter-sweet and warming finish. Nice.

cask at NWAF ... dark orange amber ... sweet white wine tones.... very sweet ... very easy juicy fruit ... doesnt show its alcohol at all .... dried apricots ... light hop ... i really like this
