Description
We’ve been in the brewing game longer than most, but we remain fully independent, unpretentious, and always looking forward. From this desire to celebrate our past and to continually innovate we created Outland, a craft beer brand for everyone, with distinct styles and clear communication.

Our mantra is pretty simple. No gimmicks, no shortcuts, just great beer, made for everyone.

440ml can as Outland Milk Stout, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Pours a deep dark brown body with a ruby shade, fawn-coloured creamy head, slowly fading, spotty lacing. Inviting smoothly roasted aromas with scent of cocoa. Cocoa powder and caramel to the flavours character, hints of oats and dark bread. Mid-sweet, lightly roasted malty end with moderate lactose in the background. Medium bodied. Like it. (Tromsø, 02.02.2024).

440ml can as 'Outland Milk Stout'. Pours pitch black with a rocky off-white head of foam. Aroma brings milky elements, milk chocolate suggestions. Flavour profile builds on this with more pronounced milk chocolate notes, more than expected actually, subtle vanilla shades. Really quite nice, and quite chocolatey with soft roasted malt rounding things off. Quite nice this.

Can that Jim bought from Sainsbury's - cheers Him! Hazy yellow-amber with a middling fizz and a white head. Tastes of sweetened lager with a hint of spice in the end. Drinkable, but not very gingery and just fairly disappointing all round.

Can from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Salford. Lightly hazed golden-orange with a very thin head. Its ginger influence is subtle with some mild spice by its aftertaste, however there's enough to subdue its pale ale character too with only hints of sweet tropical fruit available here.

Can from Morrisons, Chippenham. Dark brown with a beige head. Some metallic notes in the aroma and initial taste before a pleasing mocha flavour emerges. There's some creamy toffee too and a well-judged roastiness to balance it all. It's a little thin maybe, but it's pretty enjoyable and only really let down by the metal at the start.

Half-pint, draught at Ship & Shovell. Shared with Finn. Stable off-white head, clear mahogany coloured body, lacing rings down the glass. good looking! Moderate smell of ripe citrus fruits. Well balanced taste of citrus, leafy hops and light caramel sweetness. A piney note to a bittersweet end. Like it. (London, 30.09.2023).
