12oz. bottle, price of $1.69 @ Nikki’s Liquors, Providence, R.I. Pilsner glass shows me a deep crimson color with almost no head. Nose is light caramel. Flavors of weak chocolate, more caramel and a light fruit hop toward the finish. Texture is an oily, syrupy texture. Some like secondary sugar. Really thin body to nearly being watery. This brew really could be much better. Could use a lot of refinement.

Ninth Ward, New York bottle ($5): Pours a pale gold with little head. Aroma is barely there, but basically your standard grains and whatever. Taste is pretty minimal, but there ain’t nothing really offensive in this. ’’Tis a drinkable pale lager.

Into my pilsener, it poured a beautiful dark brown/almost black but gave more of a brownish body. A three inch white head appeared and lasted for a good two minutes. The smell has the roasted malt up front mixed with notes of a sort of caramel sweetness and a slight earthy hop smell. Some molasses comes in as the beer warms. The taste is sweet with brown sugar and caramel coming out pretty strong. There is a slightly weird buttery aftertaste that isn’t too desirable. The palate is about a medium with a slight side of creaminess and nothing obscuring the tongue, just an overall goodness. Overall, this is good for its style and good for me.

Bottle from Haus der 131 Biere, Hamburg. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and corn. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 141212

Brewed in the EU ---- Typical lager appearance. This one has quite a nice texture, not too thin and watery. Quite sweet.

33 cl. Yellow, clear with a white head. 2 Sweet malty aroma with hoppy and corn sence. Bitter - sweet taste with a malt ending.
