Mmmm....I know this British kriek has a good reputation. Upon opening the bottle, a pleasant cherry aroma strikes you. A burgundy red wine to light brown colour with a thin pinkish head. In aroma, cherry pie with notes of cherry candy drops. In mouth, a nice cherry beer with sweet cherry and lght lactic notes, reminiscent of Lindemans fruitesse, but not as overbearing. Bought at Beers of the World, late August 2006.

355 ml bottle, bought in Frederikshavn, Denmark. A British spontaneously fermented cherry "lambic", hmm? Pours with a beautiful cherry red colour and a large and lasting pink head. Intense and beguiling aroma of sweet and sour cherries. Tastes like, duh ..., beer with cherry juice added, maybe because thatโs what it actually is? Fairly sweet, reminds me of Lindemans Kriek, but also with a distinct cherry sourness. Low bitterness. Once you get used to the thought of beers tasting more or less like (first class) cherry sodas, this one (like most kriek lambics) actually taste GOOD! No, I wouldnโt want every beer to taste like this one. But it is a nice change of pace, and certainly worth a try!

Small offwhite coarse head. Light copper brown body with ongoing carbonation. Earthy, port-like aroma with notes of cloth, yeast, and cream. Acidic taste of apricot, stale cloth, and port. Acidity all the way through. Creamy wood, and other strange things. Dryish, fruity aftertaste. Excellent! This was really something special. (0.355l bottle.)
