A deep red beer - almost brown - with a huge light brown head. The aroma is acidic, fruity and roasted. While the flavor balances between sweetness and acidity with notes of roasted malt and hints of butter, leading to a dry end. The mouthfeel is slightly sticky.

Cask at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Black with dark beige head. Tarry aroma with some chocolate and coffee. OK in mouth, with tarry/coffee/chocolate and grainy finish. Got better as the pint went down

Cask at Catford Beer Festival. Dark ruby colour. Roasted malt on nose and extremely chewy in the mouth. Slightly sweet coffee malt finish. Finish seems to go on and on. Not my favourite beer from not my favourite brewery

Cask at County Hotel (JDW) Ashford, I certainly agree with SilkTork’s 2nd review when experienced as cask. Dark ruby in colour, the nose is chocolate and toffee in nature, with some coffee. Strangely over carbonated on the mouthfeel, but the finish is excellent with good chocolate malt. Slightly grainy and roasted, but I really liked it. Definitely worth having a 2nd pint

Dark brown with an obvious aroma of black currant winegums. Sweet and estery. Mildly malty with soft mouthfeel. Despite the rather strong black currant flavour it doeesn't go overboard, and manages to stay quite enjoyable. A true oddity.

Nut brown. Neutral nose. Fruity crystal malt character, very lightly roasty. Clean, rather sweet and medium bodied. Very low hop rate and only a slight hint of grassy bitterness in the finish.
