Description
Founder of Dot Brew, Shane Kelly, has made a name for both himself and his brand over the last few years through a keen passion and love for experimentation when it comes to his brews, most notably in the form of barrel ageing and hybrid styles. The Dublin based brewer has carved out quite a niche, developing a unique style and approach which has helped put Dot Brew at the forefront of the Irish Craft Beer scene. While the beers are brewed in various microbreweries in and around Dublin, they are then brought home to Dolphin’s Barn. The site is home to about 50 barrels in a small warehouse which Kelly refers to as his ‘spice rack’, with casks ranging from French oak, Mexican tequila and American bourbon, to name but a few.

Can. Dark reddish brown with no head. Aroma of malt and rum. Flavour is warm boozy malt, bourbon and rum. Dry fruit sticky base, roasted caramel malt finish.

Can. Cloudy yellow with a solid head. Aroma of apricot malt. Flavour is apricot, sticky fruit, dry bitter fruit, long finish.

440ml can at home. Pours a murky pale orange with a medium off white head. Nose is mango pineapple tangerine, sweet malt, small bit of cheddar. Flavour is mostly mango, stone fruit, small bit of spring onion. Soft carbonation.

440ml can at home. Pours a murky pale orange yellow with a very thin white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is mango, pineapple, tropical fruit, some small bit of biscuit malts. Flavour is pineapple and mango almost exclusively, small bit of green onion.

440ml can at home. Pours a hazy amber gold, small to medium off white head. Nose is mandarin orange, some pine, biscuit malts. Flavour is tropical fruit, citrus, some hay and grass notes. Quick bitter finish.
