Bottle shared. Thanks Davido. Slight Belgian yeast nose with big chocolatey cacao notes, plum, some cookie dough and light smoke. Taste is rich and creamy with a milk and cookie like image coming to mind. Dry finish with more cacao and light smoke. Fantastic beer from Yorocco. --- Beer merged from original tick of Black Saint on 05 Mar 2016 at 20:05 - Score: 8. Original review text: Yorocco wins again!

2016 re-rate: Tap at my Gremlin fairwell party only a few days out of the tanks. Hazy, glowing light gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Huge green papaya nose with passion fruit, lime and sudachi dominating. Medium body with good fruity acidity. Active carbonation. Little bit of headiness on the finish and more limey citrus. Fantastic! Tap at Transporter x Nakameguro Taproom Taiwan Earthquake relief event. Huge tropical fruit bomb with pineapple, mango, grapefruit, lime and pine resin standing out. Body feels light and refreshing, average carbonation. Well-balanced with a dry, hoppy finish. This gives Sono Ju a run for it’s money in my book. Actually it just beats it out. Another one to Yorocco. --- Beer merged from original tick of Skywalker IPA on 25 Feb 2016 at 19:09 - Score: 8. Bottle shared. Thanks Chuwy! Nice raisin and prune aromas with some light roasted chocolate and caramel notes. Molasses and some sweetness on the palate. A little tartness almost berry-like. More hot cocoa as it warms. Finish is dry with good fruit and some light Belgian character. Solid porter. --- Beer merged from original tick of Porter on 30 Jan 2016 at 21:58 - Score: 7. Pours nice dark brown, bit of foam. Aroma is sweetish, bit of fruits which is funny as this is porter as a style. Taste is clean, light and easygoing, has some roast thing coming out but still soft and has some sweetness. Green apples too. Lingering finish displays mainly sweetish and dry black bread flavours. Nice beer and definitely drinkable. Cheers!

Thanks biirusaikou for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing highly filtered golden neon yellow with no head. The nose shows a lot of pine and cannabis. The palate shows moderate carbonation and a medium body. Flavors of strong pronounced pine and cannabis with a robust malt background followed by a heavy strong IPA bitterness. In the paraphrased words of willisread, if a beer were to represent the 80’s, it’d be show same repetitive drum beat with clean guitars throughout - rhythmic, even, and clean. This beer is like the 90’s. Dirty guitars and crazy drum riffs but you can’t stop listening to it - same with the beer; uneven, highly distorted, but you can’t stop drinking it.

Tap at Michikusa. Glowing, cloudy orange-pink color with a low head. Nose of oranges, peaches, mango and other tropical fruits, wheat. Great juicy fruit flavor, mangos, peppery, bitter hop finish. This is showing lovely fruitiness and great hops, but it is just a bit too boozy, especially in the finish in combination with the hop bitterness. Still very nice, and no cloying syrupy stuff.

Tap at Beach Muffin. Beautiful, pitch black, shiny, with a low lacy head. Roasty cocoa nose, a touch of fruit and licorice. Smooth, silky but light body. Nice spicy yeastiness, peppery, some citrus. Excellent dry stout.

Tap at Beach Muffin. Brown-orange color, cloudy, with a low head. Nose of chocolate, caramel, oranges. Spicy and earthy. Rich bready malts, biscuits, full and rich malt flavor but not too sweet at all. Spicy, peppery, earthy hop and yeast combination with a bit of citrus, some nuts, and a touch of vanilla. A really lovely brown.

Golden amber color. A bit of Passionfruit and citrus nose but over attenuated. Medium full body with good pale malt character. A bit boozy. Big bitter finish. A bit all over the place, but good.

Tap at Beach Muffin. Pours a deep black with a finger of beige foam that lingers thoughout. Big espresso and roasted malt nose with cacao nibs and layers of ground coffee coming out. The yeast on the nose is a nice taste as well. As it warms some grassy and piney hops peek their head out as well. Finish is bone dry with lots of roasty flavor and piney notes. Awesome. I’ve heard that Akio roasts his own malt when possible and on this batch did so. It clearly adds more house character to the beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dubby Stout on 10 Jan 2016 at 16:35 - Score: 7
