Tap at Schrott, Brno. May 2025. Pours yeelow gold with white foam. Aroma: sweet-ish grains, biscuit. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter. Crisp & clean. Light to medium body with soft carbonation.

Eine Gose mit schwarzen Ribiseln (Johannisbeeren) 🍇 gab es auch vom Fass. Dabei gelang eine feine Symbiose zwischen den sauren Aromen des Bieres und den nicht minder sauren Aromen der Ribiseln. Dabei blieb es aber fröhlich spritzig 💦 und ließ sich angenehm trinken 😋 .

Auch das bernsteinfarbene APA mit dem Kamel 🐫 im Namen probierte ich. Auch dieses war wunderbar ausgewogen mit malzigen 🧇Körper und erfrischenden Abgang 💦

Endlich schaffe ich es ins Brauhaus Schrott, das in einer ehemaligen Armaturenfabrik 🔩🧰 untergebracht und dementsprechend gestaltet ist. Ich beginne mal mit dem Hausbier 🏠. Dies ist ein klassisches, elfgrädiges tschechisches Helles, das wirklich verdammt süffig 🤤ist, da die brotig-getreidigen 🌾 wunderbar urig sind und die leichte Hopfung eine bescheiden Würzung herstellt, ohne es zu übertreiben. Ein wirklich tolles Bier ind toller Atmosphäre ⚙️.

Backlog, 1.10.2021, tap at Workshop: Kulturni dejiny piva. Full body, med-high carbonation. Med-high sweetness, balanced by medium bitterness and moderate smoke. Balanced well together. Slightly minerally. Flavour-wise, it is dominated by med-high beech smoke, pretty pleasant. Med-light esters, a touch of rotten apple. Light caramel. Pretty centered around the smoke, which is good. Overall quite good.

Tap at Zastavka, as Vorkloster Helles 12°. Medium body, med-high carbonation. Moderate spicy earthy hops character, competing with a moderate intensity damp basementy and doughy yeast character. Background malt. Feels like a quite fresh beer, not properly lagered, despite being brilliant clear golden in colour. Enjoyable, but not quite finished.

Tap at Schrott. Hazy yellow body, thick white head. Citric, lightly candyish aroma. Lean taste, lemon leaning on lychee, some clean maltiness coming in behind. Works quite well even if, like others, it remains sweetish. Golden Ale really, but a pretty solid one. Would drink more of/again!

Tap at Schrott. Golden-yellow body, pretty clear. Sweetish herbal-honeyish-malty aroma, light butter. Sweetish taste, silky, soft maltiness, vague citric and herbal touches, but unfortunately, light diacetyl too. The buttery touches in combination with the slightly too sweet body for my tastes (and for a Helles) = not my favorite beer around. Hats of to the brewer for coming to apologize to the diacetyl issue - will definitely try to get it next time as well, hopefully in better shape!
