Tap at the Pegas Brewhouse. Poured almost black with a large tan colour head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, and chocolate. Medium sweetness with medium to heavy bitterness. Full bodied, slick and slightly earthy texture. Finish has strong level of bitterness with an underlying and growing sweetness. Wasn’t too sure on this one to start with as seemed a little too sweet but building bitterness level made for a very enjoyable beer.

Tap at the brewery. Clear deep golden colour, stable white head. Nice clean rauch, with light to moderate smoke intensity, classic beech character. Other than that a rather full bodied, fully malty beer, with subtle hoppy flavour in the background. Very balanced and easy drinking. Very good.

0,5l on tap at the brewpub shared by a friend. Orange hazy colour, small white head. Smells bread, grainy, herbal, spices. Medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes rather herbal, tobacco, bread, spices, peppery, had a but of a unclean taste. Finishes medium herbal bitter, also had a light sweetness, light notes of currant and spices and also lightly buttery.
