Description
Hardywood officially began its mission to brew with purpose in late 2011 as one of only two craft breweries in the city of Richmond. Our original brewhouse and taproom was a vacant warehouse discovered in a long-forgotten neighborhood known nearly a century prior as Richmond’s German Brewing District. Hardywood has been drawing new life to this forgotten area one draft pour at a time. We now operate a 20-barrel brewhouse and taproom in the original location, as well as a 60-barrel brewhouse and destination brewery in the West Creek area of Richmond, right on the border of Goochland County.

Today, Hardywood continues to develop and deliver on its mission with a sharp focus on brewing quality, sourcing local, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and giving back.

Pumpkin, lemon, and pear nose. Clear orange, thin head. Apricot and pumpkin flavor, allspice, lemon zest finish. Mild brown sugar finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Spicing is very subtle, but the pumpkin is evident and compliments the Belgian esters quite well. Good yeast strain for this style of beer.

750mL bottle, pours black with a very small beige head. Nose brings out lots of the gingerbread, along with vanilla, cinnamon and very light oak. Flavour is spicy in an elegant way, with notes of cinnamon and vanilla, followed by some oak. Very complex, with the spices used to perfection. Excellent beer.

This beer is a slightly hazy amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, pine and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Overall a well-executed APA.

Location: Bottle shared by Pinsky before Dave's Wedding, 11/1/14

Aroma: Theres's lightly tart fruit, some wheat, yeast, and a little bread
Appearance: Pours a pinkish color with a fairly small head on it
Flavor: The fruitiness is subtle, and it isn't super tart, but it's a solid overall flavor
Palate: The body is fairly light, with a decent amount of carbonation, easy drinking for sure
Overall Impression: This is a pretty nice one! Thanks for the share Pinsky! Too bad I probably won't get to try the other versions. I would love to see how they compare.
