Darkish brown, beautiful fluffy head. Sweetish, a little thin and husky, vaguely nutty. Not great - the elements don’t come together.

Cask (gravity) @ Microbar, Market Hall, Arndale Centre, Manchester, Greater Manchester, England M4 2HU.Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, nesquick, vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, vanilla, nesquick, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130125] 7-3-6-3-12 Cask (handpump) @ Clapton Hart, 231 Lower Clapton Road, Hackney, England E5 8EG.Clear dark brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate - dark chocolate, light to moderate roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, cacao, vanilla, nesquick. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20130401] 7-2-6-3-13

Draft at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2013 - London. Pours clear, amber-orange with a light, white cream head. Big wintery spices in the snout, some potpourri. Light to medium sweet flavor, heavily spiced with bready sugars, ginger and nutmeg. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lingering spices to finish with lightly toasted bread. If you like them spices you could dig this.

Draft at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2013 - London. Pours clear gold with a bubbly, off-white head. Ripening citrus on the nose, some tangerine in particular. Light-medium sweet flavor with citrus rind and grassy bitterness. Light in body with fine carbonation. Bitter grass to finish with subtle pale malt sweetness. Fair.

500ml bottle. Totally clear, orangey golden colour with average to huge, frothy to macropore, diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Pale malty aroma, minimally strawy, spicy, minimally peppery hints of hay. Taste is pale malty, strawy, very dry hoppy overtones, grassy, a touch of hay, a subtle gooseberry note. Almost agressively dry, biting, peppery.

Cask at the Clapton Hart - London. Pours clear, dark amber with a bubbly head. Solid beer. Some lightly toasted malts, hints of cocoa, leaves and dried fruits. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Balanced finish, more lightly toasted malts, grapes and ripening fruits. Nice.

Cask at the Clapton Hart - London. Pours clear gold with a bubbly, white head. Decent effort. Light pissy hops are present, with orange and tangerine, a bit of rindy bitterness, balancing pale malt sugars. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish with more citrus, orange rind, some hop oils. OK.

500ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, foamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Earthy grainy aroma, green spelt, barley, rye bread. Taste is earthy grainy, bready, hints of rye bread, black bread. Vanilla?
