This reminds me very much of the Kiwi IPA when it first came out. Same base malt, I am very very sure. Moderately dry, hop focused with tropical fruit notes. Well executed and highly enjoyable, I just hope it doesnt have the same fate as the Kiwi with consistency. I gave the Kiwi a 4.1 when I first tried it and I will do the same with this beer and adjust accordingly in the future.

Draught at Tokyo Dome “Furusato Matsuri.” Brewer said it was a remake of a 15-year-old recipe. That7s the “Fukkoku.” Dark gold color. Estery, malty nose. Light citrus flavor too, with stewed peach, clove, and strong yeast flavors. Good, but not great, and not after the Winter IPA.

Draught at Tokyo Dome “Furusato Matsuri.” Deep, shiny gold. Huge hop nose: citra, Nelson Sauvin, Amarillo all come through. Peach, citrus, grass, catpiss, plus biscuity malt sweetness. Great winter feeling coming through the sweet malts. Great hopping all around. Excellent.

hops are borderline too much, slightly astringent, dry, but hop heads will love this beer. Simple, apples, tropical fruit, pale malt. Big bitter finish.

Draught at Q-Brick. Light copper color. Decent hop nose, nice fruit, a bit tropical. Sweet, rather pils-like malt, bohemian, light body. Nice bitter finish. Good balance, nice drinkability, but a bit simple, particularly the malt profile.

Draught at Q-Brick. Dark amber-brown with lace. Grassy hop nose, light citrus, thick caramel, stone fruits. Very sweet flavor with lots of caramel and lots of dirty, grassy hops. Big dirty-ass finish. Alcohol is prominent. Some diacetyl noticeable. Interesting for a start, but way too much caramel which clashes big time with the (probably Kiwi) hops. Way out of balance. Needs tuning.

Good white head, hazy orange beer. Bit perfumey, fruity hops, not really citrussy, Bitterish, perfumed, going over in a pineapple flavour, and other fruity taste. Quite carbonated MF, medium bodied, spritzy, Not an IPA, for sure, but quite fruity.

Draught at JCBF 2012. Very ugly cloudy orange-gold with no head. Interesting aroma: wheat, grassy hops, Belgian style spice and yeast, cherries. Sweet and luscious, with grapes and cherries, NZ hops. Spicy, very original and nice, though weird, with a nicely bitter finish. A trip.
