Draught, Devassa, Ipanema. Dark amber looks with a small white head. Muted malty nose. Flavour was sweetish with a little fruit present, but the hop profile was a little too restrained. Not a complete turn off though, and this is a drinkable offering.

Dull amber colour with no head. Light caramel aroma. Just a hint of hop spiciness, but otherwise a relatively bland, caramelly amber ale. Pretty uneventful.

Dark brown. The aroma is light toast and brown sugar. Somewhat thin body, light caramel. While not as sweet as the other Brazilian darks, the lack of residual sugar also works against it, gutting it of body and flavour.

35cl bottle in Alphaville, Barueri, SP. Dark mahogany-red under strong light with a nice brownish head and decent lacing. Contains antioxidant and stabilizers. Nothing in particular on the nose, almost flat. Aroma of toasted malts a bit of caramel. Taste is crisp, initially bittersweet then subtly bitter. Finish is dry, quite short, carbonation is sustained, body is thin. Not bad, sessionable, simple.

35,5 bottle, BBE 17.09.2012
Aroma has bready malt with rye, some berries and hints of sugar. Feels like a dunkel. Flavour is quite short and slightly sour with some roastiness, rye bread, some sugar and hints of nettles.

355 ml bottle as Devassa Ruiva, contain antioxidants and stabilizers. Dark yellow to light amber color, clear, nice stable white head, honest lacing. Nose is crisp with some roasted malts. Roasted malts, soft caramel with a smokey note and english style hop. Taste is sugary sweetish with some soft bitterness and a bit sour. Slick finish, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation. Light to medium body. Well, this seems to be an English ale overall, not so smooth, simple, either not bad for the location.

600ml almost frozen bottle from Ibis Hotel in Tamboré produced in SP, 4.7%, 6 R$. Pale yellow with a nice white head with good retention. Something grainy on the nose. Taste is grainy, lots of adjuncts, corn, straw, butter. Taste is flat and dull. Body is thin, highly carbonated. Harsh finish. Remember me of japanese happoshus, not really an enjoyable brew. Gah.

Tap at Devassa Ipanema. It pours very dark brown, with a thick beige head. The nose is roasted malt, dark fruit, sweaty sock and metal. The taste is very fruity - berry, prune, plum, cherry and currant, as well as some roasted malt and caramel, with a jammy fruit finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Not bad at all.
