Honeyish golden color, small steady off-white head. Honeyish, a bit leafy hoppy aroma. Light bodied. Dry woody hoppy flavor with light grassy notes. Dry, sticky bitterness in the aftertaste. Quite standard uninspiring real ale.

(Cask at Kitty’s, Helsinki, 20110422) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma was fruity and mildly yesty. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, straw, mildly sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter and also harsh. A decent beer until the harsh finish killed the flavour.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 10/04/2011. Dark brown with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of coffee and sweetish malts. Easy drinking, with dark fruit, caramel and roasted malts, with a dryish finish accompanied by a lactose tang. Good.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, fruity, candy - sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100806]

On tap, pours dark brown. Aroma of burnt espresso. Flavour brings out this burnt espresso to the top, with light sour fruits and biscuity malts. Decent.

Cask at CPK. Rich brown pour with a soft, off-white head. Nose holds dark malts, brown sugar, candy, faint roast. Has quite a sweet flavor, mildly roasted malts, a bit of licorice and faint tobacco. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet, slightly sticky finish, lots of sugar, a bit more dark, roasted malts than in the flavor, notes of caramel candies and pumpernickle bread. Very modest bitterness from leaves and subtle fruits. I really like this beer.

(Cask at St Urho’s Pub Stout and Porter Days 2011) The beer poured deep dark brown and clear. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had roastedness, hops and mildly sourness. Flavours were roastedness, ash, hops, hint of sourness and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was almost burnt and bitter. interesting and bit weird but I liked.
