Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy orange, creamy head. Papery banana aroma. Slim, yet fruit with rounded mouthfeel. Careful banana esters and light cardboard. Quite clean weizen, almost lager like.

Literflasche, gesponsert von Frankenland! Clear, amber coloured with a small, lacy beige head. Nuts, but also burnt malt and a touch of barnyard in the nose. Light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied. Burnt malt - again - and vegetables in the slightly metallic finish. Poor by franconian standards.....

10 dl Syphon von Karl-Heinz. Golden to deep golden coloured, stable, beaten-egg-white-like head. Moderate sweetish-grainy nose. Moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour with a light acidity. Increasing piney hoppiness in the malty-bitter finish. Good Bock, a bit sweet, but all in all well balanced........

100cl growler, courtesy of Frankenland. Clear, golden colour with a blonde medium-sized foamy head. Sweet and slightly grainy and gassy aroma with shy hints of citrus and a whiff of hops. Sweet flavour with little bitterness, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Grainy malty taste, all in all a bit one-dimensional with light herbal notes and alcohol showing up towards the finish. Not a real highlight but drinkable pale Bock [09.XII.08].

100cl growler, with thanks to Frankenland. Slightly hazy, amber to chestnut-brown colour with a short off-white foamy head. Light-sweet and toast-malty aroma with caramel/toffee. Bitter-sweet flavour, toast-malty and slightly nutty taste with notes of caramel/toffee, accompanied by burnt elements. Quite light bodied, slightly fizzy on the tongue, dry and slightly burnt bitter finish with a light hops character. Drinkable but not a world-shaking Dunkel, at least by Franconian standards [09.XII.08].
