Can. So, despite the abv pushing 9%, this IPA is only worthy of ‘IPA’ status because it’s ‘flavoured’. Unadulterated IPAs and DIPAs are largely distinguished on abv but fool around with those additives and those boundaries disappear. What an utter shitshow are the Ratebeer styles. Here is a perfect example. The abv, so important to the base beers, doesn’t matter a jot here. Yes, a nice combo of coconut, slightly candy strawberry and smooth pine. Smooth finish. Okay, this is undeniably hoppy, undeniably big on abv, 8.8%, and undeniably fruity additive. So let’s call this a flavoured IPA. Fucking moronic style definitions from what should be the industry leader.

Can. Here we go, Hazy dipa .... why? No fucken good reason! Hazy gold beer, big pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Floral fluffy creamy malts, reasonably sweet. Decent pine with a bitterish floralness. Slightly resinous citrus. A slightly odd finish that brings these somewhat discordant elements together. Odd but interesting and drinkable. Twangy floral bitter linger.

Can, courtesy of Ricardo. Pours hazy bright orange yellow. Tropical, passionfruit, grassy, sweet, a not insignificant touch of hop burn. Decent body. Not bad.

Can. So this beer has vanilla but it’s not a Milkshake IPA. There is no mention of NE yeast or the brewer calling this an NE DIPA. But here it is, a NE DIPA. A perfect example of the shitshow that is Ratebeer hoppy styles. Ill defined. Ill thought out. Not really adminned for the aforementioned reasons. Lightly hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light smooth malts, a nice light creamy sweetness, mild and well integrated vanilla. Sweet floral citrus, nice light Elderflower. Nice light sweet tropical fruits. Tinned tropical fruits. Light finish. Nice, very drinkable.

Fairly hazy Super crazy deep pink, ruby and light violet coloured body with a thick, five centimetre tall pure pink and slightly frothy head, all atop the 90 per cent opaque glowing coloured beer! Aroma of crazy berries with blueberries, raspberries, wheat, tart lemons and a bit of lactose noticeable throughout, with some yeast and light alcohol that shows through at the end. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong berry flavours dominate at first with a lot of fructose and fruit-based sweetness with a dash of dry grain and hay on the edges, but a lot of tart and lightly floral notes that show more of the earthy and pure flavours than most others that are similar in style, but that makes this more complex and enjoyable. Aftertaste is tart, fresh and very refreshing that has a great fruit profile with a smooth balance of fresh wheat and a light earthy finish. Overall, a good one to try and very nice if you like fruit beers, goses, sours or even berliners - since this is sort of an amalgamation of all those - done right! Great, overall! I sampled this sixteen ounce can, purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington, Virginia on 18-October-2019 for US$4,31 sampled at home in Washinton on 08-November-2019.
