Description
We are an award winning craft brewery, producing an impressive selection of delicious Craft Beer.

Born in 2013, Firebird was created by Bill and Richard who re-established an old friendship which began at The University of Birmingham’s Brewing School. Both studied for an M.Sc in Brewing Science and Technology and on completion went their separate ways. Bill to join and eventually run family firm King and Barnes in Horsham and Richard to continue his career with Courage and then a move into the Wines and Spirits Industry.

On making contact again in 2012 it didn’t take too many beers to realize that a joint venture in brewing was the only sensible thing to do! Soon a site was found in an old converted brickworks in Rudgwick and a brewing plant was purchased and installed. The first commercial beer Heritage XX was sold at the end of June 2013. 10 years later Firebird produces a large range of award winning beers and has a thriving shop and bar as well.

Can. Frothy white good mostly diminishing head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Short light bitter finish. oily palate.

Can @ Højbjerg tasting 28 July. Pours clear amber with small white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with mild fruity and hoppy notes. Bitter, hoppy and grassy flavour with sweetish notes of malt and fruit and estery touches. Estery and citric aftertaste. Easy to drink and quite refreshing.

Can @ Højbjerg tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, hops, malt and caramel. Above average carbonation.

Can @ Saxo tasting. Clear golden with a big white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity and light hoppy - citrus. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 280718

Can @Højbjerg Tasting. Clear light amber, offwhite airy head. Pine, caramel and grapefruit aroma. Bittersweet flavour, pine, some rubber, grapefruit.

Tried at the Three Stags, bennington. Golden to amber colour with a very thin white head. Aroma has light caramel and soft fruit. Taste moderate bittersweet. Slightly thin watery body.

Tap at the Four Hops, Reigate. Pours golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of hop, fruit, grass and straw. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Light body, slight watery texture, average to soft carbonation. Dry, citrus finish. Ok but not a huge fan of this.

Cask-conditioned at the JDW in Petersfield, Hants 30/6/2017. Golden in colour, with a slight, white, head. Sweetish cereal malts, some stone fruits, leafy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask gravity at SIBA South East Tonbridge 2017. With Euan .Clear brown amber colour no head. Some toffee some carbonation. Some lime fruit. Light citrusy bitter.
