Can from the brewery. Note for admins - may well be the same beer as the Kolsch already listed,but as it’s easier to lump than split etc. Very light haze on this slightly peach tinted beer, good off white head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has modest fine minerally carbonation. Very light and sweet malts. A little floral apple. Mild elderflower. Bare whisper of citrus. Airy finish. Clunky but not awful.

Keg at the brewery tap room annexe (shed). Lightly hazy gold - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and slightly viscous, good fine carbonation. Smooth and sweet malts, caramel and cream. Decent ripe orange. Light candy fruits. Light florlaness. Mild spice. Trace of bubblegum and banana esters. Dried fruits. Well this was a surprise, good depth of flavour and great drinkability. In fact I had trouble prising it off my half cut missus who was sipping way on this very happily!

Keg from the Brewery Tap. Dark gold and almost flat. Small ring of beige head. Vinegary yeasty smell that I’m not fond of, with some apple and peppercorn notes. Tastes alright though... in fact it tastes pretty bloody lovely. There’s a spicy taste that jars with the spicy sweetness, but it’s a fun is. Long finish with some caramello, yeast roll and chicken fat. Hard one to pin down, but I like it, and it had a lovely sessionable strength.

Keg at the Brewery Tap. Mid-gold and clear with a large creamy white head. Light aroma with some whisky and some orange peel. Sweet taste with brandied citrus, candy sugar and whisky to the fore. Slight bitterness in the finish. Intense carbonation. Not the most exciting recipe perhaps. But very refreshing. It hit the spot for me.

Keg at the brewery tap. Light gold. Hazy with a decent-sized white head. Floral smell with orchard fruit, candy sugar and a distinct vegetal note. Mildly sweet taste with a slight savoury vegetable flavour. Apricot and a hint of lactose. Medium to long finish. Certainly drinkable despite a few issues, and belies its strength.

Keg at the Brewery Tap. Mig-gold, hazy with a tiny bright white head. Yeast and crabapple on the nose, with a hint of lemon curd. Sweet taste with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Sour apple in the aftertaste. Simple but very enjoyable. Lacks the extra ’oomph’ I look for in a beer but worth sampling if you get the chance.

Keg at the Brewery Tap. Cloudy yellow with a hint of white head. Big sumptuous lemon and coriander aroma, classic witbier. The taste is less engaging: sweet with a bitter/sour tinge. More ground coriander in the finish. Thin oily body. Not the best witbier to be had but they do an admirable job with the 3% ABV.

Gravity cask at the 2016 Cambridge Beer Festival. Ruddy brown, clear and translucent, with a film of cream-coloured head. Oak, sarsaparilla, vanilla and red berry in the strident bouquet. Sweet malty taste with slight bitterness in the finish. Current and horehound in the aftertaste. Pretty good although can’t compare with the best brown ales.

Cask at the Architect, Cambridge. Not quite clear orange/brown/amber/copper. Little bit of off-white head. Juicy, malty aroma. Simple yet enticing. Taste starts all sweet malt, then subtle bitterness takes over for a long balanced finish. Medium oily palate. Could do with more carbonation, may work slightly better in bottle/keg. Good beer, if a bit simple.
