Half-pint, cask at Kings Head. A deep rustic shade to a near-black body. Filmy layer, lacing rings down the glass. Toffee and dark doughy aroma, nicely roasted. Mid-sweet dark malty flavours with impact of caramel and liquorice. Roasted ending. Decent version of the style. (Norwich 09.07.2017).

Cask at the 8th Chappel Winter Beer Festival. Pours dark brown with a lasting bubbly beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, nut, dark fruit and vanilla. Light sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Light body and slight oily texture, carbonation is soft to average. A decent dark ale more than a stout.

[ As S&P Dennis ].Clear medium amber orange color with a small to average, frothy, good to fair lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, caramel, fruity malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 2/8/2016. Amber in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Hedgerow hops, biscuity malts, berry fruits, slight yeastiness and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Cask at GBBF 2014 - London. Day 1. Pours clear gold with a light, white foam head. Simple golden with light citrus notes, grainy pale malts, hay. Light in body with fine carbonation. Basic pale malt finish with some dough, faint lemon. Fine.
