On tap at Novare Res, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is rather harsh, with bitter grapefruit peel, resinous hops, bitterness, and a big malt base. Flavour is a little less harsh, with plenty of resinous hops, big caramel malt that’s been largely fermented out, and some grapefruit peel. Rather clumsy balance. Needs work.

On nitro tap at City Tap, pours a clear blonde with a large white head. Aroma has lots of spicy rye upfront, with a soft bready malt base and fluffy straw. Flavour is more laid-back but still leads with the spicy rye notes, with a very soft bready malt base. I want more malt and rye aggression in my ESB; pretty timid, albeit unobjectionable.

16 oz can. Aroma of soft herb underneath mild citrus fruit. Flavor follows the aroma and is no surprise. Soft evergreen with pime resin. Decent mouthfeel and low bitterness.

Can shared by CLW--thanks, Chris! Hazy, pale gold, nice sparkle, thin head with good retention, rings of lacing. Aroma is pine (no resin), citrus, generic fruit. Taste follows aroma with malt backbone. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, dry finish as taste with mild lingering bitterness. Traditional pale ale but the pine is more flavorful than bitter/resiny so props for that.

Pours murky mango into a willi. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Passion fruit, melon and mango aromas. Thick with sweet mango and passion fruit upfront turning to melon rind in the medium length finish.

World Cup final can. Aroma shows me mild herb and soft grapefruit. Flavor of white grapefruit, mild caramel, soft lingering pine cone. Moderate bitterness in the finish.
This is about as old school of a APA you will find. Leans west coast for certain.

6 oz draft. Very soft pine / herb nose. Flavor has more mango, citrus with the soft lingering pine. Mild white grapefruit. Mild juice. Pretty nice for a west coast. Although certainly, I don’t reach for a West Coast very often, and the style seems to have gained popularity again

6 oz draft. Flavor of lemon peel, malt, grapefruit. Flavor follows with the addition of leafy green hops. Good amount of juicy characteristics with a mild finish. Really great flavor for such a low ABV.
