Founded in 1995, Bank Top Brewery is nestled in the former mill village of Bank Top in North Bolton. Our custom-built 11-barrel brew plant is housed in the picturesque Grade II listed tennis pavilion, where we brew an average of 22,000 pints per week.

Cask@Market Porter, London (backlog). Golden colour, not too much head. Aroma is fruity, floral, bready and mildly nectary notes. Flavour is floral, bready, caramelly and also has some wooden notes. More a golden ale than a bitter imho.

Bottled. Deep brown colour, mediumsized bubbly white head, which vanishes quite fast. Aroma is roasted malts, raisins, some chocolate, brown sugar and mild sweetness. Flavour is chocolate, toffee, some ashes, toasted rye bread and some sweet syrupy notes.

Bottle at The Inn Beer Shop, Southport. Pours black, some head. Nice looking beer. Aroma not very appealing, however proved a very nice drink overall. Nutty roasted chocolate, good body, moderate carbonation.

Cask (gravity) @ NWAF 2012, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear dark brown color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, dark malt, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120118]

Cask (handpump) @ Bar Fringe, 8 Swan Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester England M4 5JN.Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, biscuits, coconut. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, coconut cake. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask @ Bridge Bier Huis, Burnley. Clear golden with a creamy head and a fairly smooth texture. It’s a lager style ale with a bland malt in aroma and taste.

[Cask at Chippenham BF] Dark brown with a light fizz. Chocolate, espresso & smoke. Some ginger in the finish. Didn’t do it for me - a little on the thin and dry side. c8
