500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thanks for yet another ship label!]. Jet black colour with small to average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly weak, roasty dark malty and fruity hoppy aroma, hints of coffee, dark chocolate, blueberry, bramble, liquorice overtones. Taste is minimally sweet, roasty dark malty, hints of milk chocolate, a touch of treacle, fruity hoppy overtones with a touch of blueberry and bramble, an additional touch of liquorice in the finish. Oily texture, smooth, soft, silky palate. Nice.

ABV: 3.6%. Clear medium yellow orange colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, caramel, sweet malt, fruity malt, light nutty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, pale malt, caramel, fruity malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. 3/5/2019. Cask at the 28th East Anglian Beer & Cider Festival, Bury St Edmunds. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits, coffee, berries and a little molasses. Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, very soft carbonation.

17th Feb 2019. Hand-pulled half-pint in the Station Hotel, Oakengates. Smooth white crown on a clear amber body, plenty of lacing as the beer level sank. A fruity and hoppy little number with a slight piney bitterness for balance. Another cask pint was taken on 30th June 2026 in the Bull, Birmingham, which is where the picture is from.

Half-pint, cask at Royal Oak Hotel in Fleetwood. Shared with Finn. Clear yellow-golden body, firm bubbly white head, spotty lacing. Fruity nose, hints of lemony hops. Taste of lemony hops, peaches and earthy malts. Refreshing malt-fruity ending. Just alright. (07.02.2019).

Gravicask shared with Finn at 37th Fleetwood Beer & Cider Festival. Covering beige head to a clear dark copper coloured body. Fragile lacing. Dark fruity nose. Malt-fruity taste,moments of caramel and dried fruits. Distant bittersweet finish. Quite alright. (07.02.2019).

Cask ale at White Cross in Lancaster. Shared with Finn. Filmy layer, fair lacing and a clear dark brown coloured body. Promising aroma of chocolate malts. Taste of chocolate, nuts and a backdrop of dark fruits. Ends with chocolate notes, nicely roasted. Likable. (06.02.2019).
