Sampled @ GBBF Day 2. Very dark brown to black color, opaque, no head. Weird aroma of liquorice, dark malts, herbs, spices, ginger, car tyre and tar. Taste malts, dark malts, liquorice, heavy ginger I guess. Not what I like at all.

Cask handpull at GBBF 2016. Black colour lasting tan head. ginger root ginger chocolate. Quite watery mouthfeel quite dry. Ginger stout too dry and watery.

Cask (gravity) @ Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival (2014), Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EL. [ As Angel Sambucus Stout ].Clear dark black brown color with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, roasted bitter, ash notes, tart ? Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141011]

Cask at the Birmingham CAMRA Beer Festival 2015. Poured a slightly hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is light grassy hop with a little lemon citrus sourness. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a smooth yeast, big citrus palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. The first few sips were fine but became a little sickly after a while.

Cask at the Birmingham CAMRA Beer Festival 2015. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is light grassy citrus hop. The flavour is strong bitter with a fresh strong woody hop bitter palate and a lingering toothpaste bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at GBBF 2015 day 1. Clear light yellow coloured pour with a fleeting head. Aroma is light grains, straw, alcohol, harsh grassy. Flavour is composed of light grains, straw, hedgerow hop. Firm grassy bitterness. Palate is light and watery, light moderate carbonation. Boring.

Cask at GBBF ’15, day 1, 11/08/15. Clear light golden topped with moderate off white spotting. Nose is toasted malt, melon, straw, citric peel. Taste comprises light mandarin strokes, citric sherbets, orange squash. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok GB.
