Leeds Beer Festival 2015. Black with a thick creamy off-white head. It’s heavy tasting with a high aroma and underlying coffee notes that linger.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin, bubbly, dark tan head. The aroma is big earthy, peat, mineral, light smoke. The flavour is strong bitter with a dry, smoky, roasted malt, charcoal, chocolate bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Moderate to full bodied with soft carbonation. This beer is "full on". Lots of flavour and plenty going on. It won’t be to everyone’s taste but it floated my boat!

Cask stillage at the Birmingham CAMRA festival 2014. Poured a clear mahogany with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, spicy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth roasty bitter, chilli spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. It’s all about the chill. Not enough body or flavour.

30th Aug 2014, hand-pulled half-pint at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Poured a clear straw blond with a thin white head, some lacing. The aroma is predominantly hop based, as is the taste, the malts being pushed to the back of the queue. Semi-bitter with a citrus feel overall. Refreshing and thirst quenching but without getting me excited.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a hazy light amber with a round bubbly white head. The aroma is dry earthy veggie, light citrus. The flavour is mineral earthy with a soft light citrus very light elderflower palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Not one of the better beers from Angel, but a decent refreshing pint all the same.
