Description
Rowton Brewery was established in October 2008 by Jim Preston. Purpose built in a converted Victorian cattle shed on the family farm the micro-brewery has plenty of character.
Rowton Brewery has been supplying the good people of Shropshire with traditionally brewed real ales since 2008.
Consistency is maintained by getting the basics right every brew by using high quality Maris Otter malt, the finest hops sourced from round the world and water drawn from our own borehole.
The theme around the breweries logo and merchandise is based around the Rowton Meteorite that landed in the village of Rowton in 1876, which is believed to be the only Iron Meteorite that has been seen to hit the Earth in the United Kingdom. The Meteorite is currently in the Natural History Museum in London.

Cask pint in The Cock Hotel, Wellington Shropshire on 12th Jan 2017. Says โSession IPAโ on the pump clip, not sure I have ever had a UK brewed one before, but if the rest are as easy drinking as this one, well bring them on. US hops used in the brew, again according to the pump clip; this clear golden beer with itโs white head looked, smelled and tasted fine. Obviously hop centric, the semi-sweet malty base bringing balance throughout and tempering the hop blend nicely.

Cask half-pint in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 12th Jan 2017. As the name suggests, this is a golden coloured beer, the head a smooth white affair. Nice blend of hops over a decent semi-sweet malty base, the finish being fairly bitter and dry. Another very drinkable beer from Rowton Brewery.

Cask pint, hand-pulled in The Cock Hotel, Wellington Shropshire on 3rd Oct 2016. Clear and bright golden pour, full white topping and plenty of lacing as the beer level fell away down the glass. Hop centric with just enough malt presence to calm the bitterness and keep the resin flavours in check. Piney nose, hops all over the place from start to finish: liked it.

30th Sep 2016: cask, hand-pulled in the Crown Inn, Oakengates during the pubs 41st Beer Festival. Golden bodied, clear and clean, thin white head. Hop centric, yet not overly bitter or aromatic in nature. Pleasant enough and refreshing, but was expecting more hoppiness because the brewers intimated to me they had gone crazy hop wise with the brew: some of them must have cancelled each other out in the kettle.
