Manchester Beer Festival 2020. From the wood cask section. Darker amber in colour with its barrel ageing excellent. It does taste like a dark malt brew.

Manchester Beer Festival 2020. From the wood. Alcohol certainly usurps the porter character and taste in this one. It basically only looks like a porter!

Bottle split at L6 Tasting, thanks to LKS, 22/08/19. Light black with a decent tan cap. Nose is tangy fruits, umami, spice, dried fruit rinds, herb. Taste comprises more dried fruit esters, hint of bubblegum, black peppery spice, burnt notes, tangy. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Weird … wouldn't revisit but didn't find it as offensive as the others!

Bottle shared in London - picked up at Pigs Ear 2018. Pours clear brown with a bubbly, tan head. Awful aroma, all plastic burnt malts. Unpleasant flavour, no other way to say it, lots of charred carpets, dirt. Full bodied, oily, with minimal carbonation. Lingering terrible flavours in the finish. Truly horrible beer. Can't understand how it went so wrong.
