Beer No. 83 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Bottled 500ml. - Courtesy of and shared with Papsoe, thanks! Dark brown coloured, small off-white head, light roasty nose with notes of chocolate. Light roasted malt, chocolate and mild fruity with touch of alcohol in the finish. I agree with Papsoe that this one is closer to a porter than a Dubbel. But all in all very good beer.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost opaque dark brown with an orange hue and a beige head. Roasty aroma, some chocolate and a little dried fruit. Quite full-bodied, again very chocolatey, a slight roastiness and a whiff of friendly phenols, a touch of yeast and then some alcohol in the finish. Very pleasant, but closer to a Porter than a Dubbel, doesn’t really have the typical Belgian esters. 070911
