21st June 2023, new region and rare beer tasting with minutemat (and a sample for Grumbo) at my place. Thanks Mat for keeping the Shropshire rates going and bringing along this 500ml bottle: BB 30th May 2024. Mostly clear golden body, white affair on top. Nectaron is a new hop to me I believe, it's citrusy and 'light', almost typical New Zealand I suppose. Another decent beer from Stonehouse.

21st June 2023, new region and rare beer tasting with minutemat (and a sample for Grumbo) at my place. Cheers Mat for keeping the Shropshire beers ticking along. 500ml bottle BB 28th April next year. It's actually not 'Twisted' Citra but 'Twsted' they've left the 'i' out to look cool and trendy! Anyway it's a decent enough citrusy flavoured brew with a piney back drop. Hazy look.

Cask at Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury. Pours “bitter brown” with a small off-white head. Not much of an aroma – just some generic fruitiness. In the mouth it is bitter overall, but with some sweet undertones. Malts and hops vie for supremacy in the flavour along with some hints of marmalade. Later on citrus comes into play as well, plus traces of lemon and cola. This is OK, but rather boring.

Cask at the Marlborough Arms, Chester. Pours pale gold with a large head. Aroma is bitter straw and lemon. Taste has straw and tropical fruit.

Cask @ Cromwell's Tap House. Pours a relatively clear gold, white head. Not much aroma, soft pale malt profile with a mild hop bitterness, lacking in hop definition. Empty, dry finish. Fine overall, but a bit dull.

Cask at Henry Potts, Chester. Pours a dark straw with a small white head and good lacing. Just some sweet malts in the aroma. Pretty much the same in the mouth, where they are joined by floral hops and summer fruits. Later on some bitterness comes into the equation, and this is emphasised in the somewhat dry finish. It’s OK.

Cask @ Cromwells Tap House. Clear gold appearance, small white head. Lovely fresh balanced pale, soft malty character with very subtle grapefruit hop hints. Expected a little more from the mosaic hops. Fine overall, very light and easy drinking.

Hand-pulled half-pint at the Boot Micropub on 2nd April 2023. Pale blonde, white head. Grapefruit like aroma and taste, fairly bitter.

Cask @ House of Grain. Clear bright gold with a small pure white head. Assumed from the name this was made with honey but it's not. Fresh floral hops, grapefruit and lime hints, nice light drinkability.
