Draft at Buoy Taproom. Clear golden pour, small white head slowly recedes. Crisp, grainy aroma, sweet. Taste follows with a nice creamy body, nice grainy, biscuity flavors, light crisp finish.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma has soft tequila upfront, with toasted nuts and gentle bready malt. Flavour is rather rough, bringing out what seems like low-quality tequila, along with toasted nuts and a thin bready malt base. Not convincing as a doppelbock and the barrel aging doesn’t really convince either. Okay.

12oz can from Brewers Haven. Foggy golden pour, thin silky white head. Aroma is over ripe fruit, melon, stone fruit. Taste retains the ripe fruit flavors, peach, apricot, pear, melon. Mildly dry finish, fruit rind.

Amber, with a slight haze. No head. Rich malt, berry fruitiness, a bit toasty. The alcohol slides in late. It's fairly bitter, but without a strong hop profile.

Malty, caramel, some American oak probably. Taste is full.of fruits, caramel, full-bodied. Finishes with some bitterness. Good American Barleywine.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy orange hue with a medium white head. A big pungent tropical fruity nose. Rich, overripe fruit, apricot, sweeter fermenting citrus. Quite smooth. Tastes bigger than 6%.

12 oz. can, pours a mostly clear golden orange with a medium beige head. Aroma has big chewy caramel malt upfront, with sticky resinous hops further back — quite malty. Flavour is both bitter and malty — seeming more balanced than the nose did — with bitter resinous hops, some bitter pine, and a thick yet dry bready caramel malt base. Truckloads of bitter resinous hops on the finish. Maybe not the most refined west coast IIPA, but I'm digging it.

On tap at The Beer Mongers. Pours brown with a small white head. Aroma has lightly smookey toffee malts, crayon, and crusty bread. Flavour has toffee malts, gentle smokiness, and burnt crust. Fantastic burnt, toffee-llike malt flavours.
