Description
Focussing on "the good side of life" is what Big Belly Brewing is all about. We love things a little bigger, going the extra mile, adding something special, being more creative. But above all, we love things in life that are a bit more fun.

All our beers are well balanced and made with premium "The Swean" malts, so we get the full, distinctive beers that we are proud of. After coming up with a special touch, we design a legendary character for every beer. Finally, we write and add an amusing story about the character and the beer. That's how we make one of the most fun things, drinking beer, even more fun.

A black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has quite strong roastiness of coffee, natural coffee, nuts, hint of chocolate and alcohol. Taste has coffee, chocolate, nuts, vanilla, sweetness. Full bodied, but not stickyness. There are some interesting aromatic notes of nuts, propably from tonka beans. Sweet dessert.

330ml. can. @home, 06/04/2021 [#3.875 Global - #258 Netherlands - #1 Big Belly Brewing (My Brewery #94 from the Netherlands)] 6.9% 2021 edition. Pours orange with a medium off-white head. Mostly lacing. Aroma: sweet oranges, perfume and light honey. Taste: bittersweet oranges and floral. Bit too sweet. Flat. Next one please!

Bottle at home, amber coloured beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, hops. Taste is the same, bitter, light sweet, hops, citrus, lemon.

[ As Big Belly ÆTHELSTAN Barrel Aged ].
ABV: 12.0%. Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dark malt, bourbon, wood, barrel - vanilla, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, bourbon, smoke, barrel - vanilla, vanilla, wood, dark fruit. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20210305]

Aroma has sweet vanilla and maybe some hazelnut and toasted brioche. Flavour is predominantly sweet and quite one dimensional. Lacking roastiness and bitterness. Nice thick texture.

Pale hazy blond colour with thin wispy head. Aroma and flavour have crisp citrus and juicy fruit notes. Ideal thirst quencher given the rounded bitter finish.
