Description
The Loud Shirt Brewing Co. was set up by Martyn Batchelor and Mike Thomson on 29 February 2016 – a special day for a special occasion. We have two things in common – we love brewing vibrant, delicious beers; and we love our loud shirts!. Martyn and Mike have been friends since 1984. Martyn is the Loud Shirt Ale-Chemist, weaving magical spells to transform our malt, hops, yeast and secret ingredients into liquid gold. Mike is the Loud Shirt Beer Cellar, a truly dedicated follower of passion, unleashing Loud Shirt beers into the world. We started brewing beer in a garden shed, but now have a 10 barrel brewery in Brighton with a capacity of 6,000 pints per week. We always love to welcome visitors and we hope to meet you soon.

Bottle shared at DS. It pours dark brown - black with small light tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, treacle, molasses, cocoa, umami, fruit cake and rocky road. The taste is dry, bitter, toasty, earthy roast, umami, liquorice, cocoa, bit chewy, twiggy, leather and earth with some spice on the finish. Lightish - medium body and fine carbonation. A bit thin, but not so bad.

29/3/2018. Cask at the 29th Egham Beer Festival, held at the EUSC. Poured very dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of malt, nut, coffee, chocolate and liquorice. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation. Thinner than expected, not bad though.
