Description
The Loud Shirt Brewing Co. was set up by Martyn Batchelor and Mike Thomson on 29 February 2016 – a special day for a special occasion. We have two things in common – we love brewing vibrant, delicious beers; and we love our loud shirts!. Martyn and Mike have been friends since 1984. Martyn is the Loud Shirt Ale-Chemist, weaving magical spells to transform our malt, hops, yeast and secret ingredients into liquid gold. Mike is the Loud Shirt Beer Cellar, a truly dedicated follower of passion, unleashing Loud Shirt beers into the world. We started brewing beer in a garden shed, but now have a 10 barrel brewery in Brighton with a capacity of 6,000 pints per week. We always love to welcome visitors and we hope to meet you soon.

Draft at From Beer To Eternity, Havant. Hazy-opaque copper gold. Thick foamy white head with mega lacing. Aroma has pithy orange citrus. Underlying chewy gritty malts. Flavourwise it has tangy sourness over bitter core. Underlying minerals and herbs. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice if a tad basic/one-noted.

Keg draught at the Hare & Hounds, Brighton. Fairly light gold and hazy with a small ring of white head and fair lacing. Apricot and white grapefruit in the aroma with some malt giving more character. Sweet taste, the fruity hop doesn't run away with it, it's hot a good biscuity malt backbone. Medium body with heavy carbonation. A bit generic but better than most 'generic' pales. A lot more character here.

330ml draft into a bottle from lowcostbeer. Darkish clear gold, thin white head, minor retention. Aroma of sweet malts, orange and floral hops and and edge of lemon zest. Taste is mango, more mangos, some lemon citrus cutting through, somewhat aromatic. Finish is a rather dull malt and fading mango taste. Not great in truth.

On tap at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Golden orange pour with a white head. Sweet citrus & apricot aromas. Taste is citrus, bitter herb, light grains. Lightly bitter finish. This'll definitely work better on cask I fancy 🤔
