Cask at Devils Taphouse, Stafford (not listed on RateBeer) Pours the classic “bitter brown” with a strong white head. A strange combination of cherries and nuts in the nose. Mouthfeel is mainly grains and malts but with some underlying bitter lemon and hints of berry fruits. Finish is dry and bitter. OK – but a bit weird !

Cask @ Tap and Can. Clear gold pour, fluffy white head. Pleasant blonde nose, cream-hints. Exceptionally fresh, light, easy-drinking blonde with a subtle gentle sweetness coursing throughout. Nicely rounded sessionable stuff.

Tried at the 2020 Derby Winter Beer Festival. Light golden colour with a white head. Slight citrus. Hints of floral. Light sweet to dry body.

Cask gravity at Pigs Ear BF 2019. 4.5% clear dark amber colour no head. malty best bitter some biscuit. some mineral. some light rubber. ok

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford (not listed on RateBeer) Pours a dark ruby red with a small cream head. Has a nice nutty aroma, which expands in the mouth. Taste centres on dark fruits, but gradually expands to encompass raspberries, parkin and ginger. Finish is fruity, bitter on the roof of the mouth, hoppy on the tongue. Unfortunately, I was served this beer much too cold, so everything is subject to caveat. But there seems to be a really nice beer trying to get out. Will have to rerate when I get a chance

Cask at pigs ear 2019. A mostly clear golden amber coloured pour with no head. Aroma is grassy hop, silage, honey malts, grassy hop, flavour is composed of semi sweet, damp hay, grass, hint of honey, dirty hops. Palate is semi sweet, grainy, meh.

22nd July 2019, hand-pulled half-pint in the Kings Head, Eccleshall while on a 'pub crawl'. Slight haze to the golden pour, white crown. Light citrus leanings with a mild tartness.

ABV: 4.0%. Clear dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, light burnt, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, dark malt, chocolate, burnt - roasted, sweet dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat.
