Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.

Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.

Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Milky golden body with a thin white head that fades. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of pine, lime and straw. Flavour of lime pickle and Thai basil with a bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. This is very nice, I didn’t know Brew Toon could brew NEIPAs as good as this.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours clear amber with a average white cap. The aroma is largely of grain, toasty, grass, oatcakes and slightly metallic. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, rather bitter, soda water, grassy, rather spicy, damp grain, pithy, slightly soapy and metallic. Light body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Not their best nolo offering. Quite sharp.

Cask stillage at The Redgarth, Oldmeldrum. It pours clear golden - yellow with a bubbly, frothy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy mango, ripe peach, passion fruit, pic n mix, refreshers, sherbet dib dab and uncanny Irn Bru vibes. The taste is less intense than the aroma is dry, pleasing level of bitterness, mango, peach, orange chewits, pithy, zesty, floral, waxy peel, orange blossom, toasty grains, biscuit malt and light peppery spice with a pithy citrus finish. Light+ body and soft carbonation. Delivers quite a bit for the abv. Aroma in particular is great.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours cloudy bright golden - yellow with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, tangy, ripe tropical fruits, mango, peach, orange creamsicle, green, weedy, dank, herbal, spicy, mango salsa, aniseed and some fennel. The taste is dry, green, weedy, dank, bong rips, herbal, sticky, floury bread, slightly chalky, pithy, over ripe mango, peach, nectarine, fruit punch, touch raw and spicy with a lingering, zesty and weedy finale. Medium body and moderate, gassy carbonation. Plenty of flavour for the abv hats for sure. Would have guessed this was a bigger beer.

Cask at The Globe Aberdeen. It pours clear deep gold - amber with a limited head. The aroma is soft, sappy, oily, sticky, digestive biscuit and earth. The taste is bitter - sweet, quite slick, sappy, resin, leather, caramel, peppery spice and slightly floral with a drying finale. Average body and light carbonation (perhaps could be done with a to touch more). Old school golden bitter vibes. It's decent enough, by better condition would lift it further.
