Cask at Smithfield, Derby Pours a dark reddish brown with a small cream head. Distinctive aroma of oats and cream cakes. In the mouth the texture is creamy, with taste being mainly dark fruits and dark chocolate. Some hints of liquorice too and an underlying sweetness. A dry and fruity finish to round things off. A nice and complex beer which takes some appreciating.

Bottle from the Northumberland Beer Box. Aroma of ginger. Medium brown. No head. Light-medium bitter. Hints of sweetness. Ginger spice. Low key doughiness. Soda-esque. Light-medium bodied. Thin. Low key fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. Nice enough.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Appearance - clear pale golden. Fluffy white head. Nose - malt bag, very dry muesli. General lack of fruit. Taste - better than nose. Something lemon, almost pinepple. Still a heavy dry malt/bready presence. Palate - light bodied, creamy/tangy middle. Tangy finish. Overall - so so.

500ml bottle, bottled on 16th Apr 2020 and consumed at home on 18th Jul 2020. Struggled with this. Unclear dirty amber, no head or life to the brew, slight ginger and bready nose, taste also bread and ginger like in nature. Just a bit weird and not too my liking.

Third by hand-pulled cask at GBBF Winter, Jewellers Bar. Shared with Finn. Patchy surface leaving lacing rings down the glass. Opaque copper coloured body. Moderate smell of earthy, brown malts. Bread-like malty flavours, mid-sweet. Distant mid-dry, bittersweet end. Accepted. (Birmingham 05.02.2020).
