Cask at the brewpub. Clear amber. Thin foamy white head sticks to the rim. Bitter woodiness with gooseberry and some caramel. Aroma and flavour. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Described by the brewery as a English Pale Ale but the barmaid described it as a bitter, and I would side with her. Decent enough.

Cask at the brewpub. Aroma is sweet and citrusy. Hazy-opaque gold. Thin frothy foamy translucent white head. Medium bitter. Citrusy with a resinous streak and quinine. Spice. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Punchy trad UK take on a Hazy Pale.

Underlying creaminess, moreso into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice.

Cask @ Queen Inn, Winchester. Golden with a thin head. It's a hoppy brew providing a bitter taste to its finish.

Cask at the brewpub. Aroma is chocolatey with dough and spice. Peaks my interest. Clear-opaque dark gold. Thin white head primarily sticks to the rim. Sour. Citrus and berries throughout. Spice. Underlying sweet sugary dough. But it's the sourness and spice that dominates. Medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Fine. Not sure there's anything in the mix that's reminiscent of a stout. More like a Christmas themed ESB.
