Cask at the brewpub. Aroma is malty, fruity. Slightly citrusy. Clear amber brown. Thin silky foamy off-white head. Medium bitter. Grains amd citrus. A hint of quinine. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Enjoyable. Characterful twiggy stuff.

Cask @ Queen Inn, Winchester. Golden with a thin head. It's a hoppy brew providing a bitter taste to its finish.

Cask at the brewpub. Aroma is chocolatey with dough and spice. Peaks my interest. Clear-opaque dark gold. Thin white head primarily sticks to the rim. Sour. Citrus and berries throughout. Spice. Underlying sweet sugary dough. But it's the sourness and spice that dominates. Medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Fine. Not sure there's anything in the mix that's reminiscent of a stout. More like a Christmas themed ESB.

Half-pint, cask ale, shared with Finn at Queen Inn. Dotted spots on the nose, filmy layer, cloudy golden body. Spiced fruity aromas. Fruity taste with ginger and rosemary spices. Perfumed fruity end. Sorry, not my kind of beer. (Winchester 23.10.2019).

Cask at the brewpub. Sweet molasses and malt aroma with a definite whiff of heather. Muddy cola brown. Thin off-white just rings the rim. Light sweetness and malts with a light bitter core. Medium bodied. Slick with some stickiness. Flat carbonation. Long finish. Nice but basic - the brown sugar comes through but not picking up heather in the taste.

Cask at the brewpub. Spicey rye aroma. Copper gold. Thin creamy white head. Bitter with rye throughout. Complemented by a sweet and sour citrus edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Nice and juicy but let down by flat caskness.

Cask at the brewpub. Floral and almond aroma. Hazy night gold. Bubbly white head. Light bitter with a sweet marzipan edge. Some sourness develops. Mesium bodied. Slick with a chalky residue. Flat carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Hmmm. It's OK. At least they're trying to do something different but verging on sickly for me. Wouldn't order another.
