Description
We're a Micro-Brewery sitting on the edge of the Peak District, operating from an old mill in the Lumsdale Valley.
All our beer is brewed in small batches, typically no more than 350L, meaning every batch is given that extra bit of attention and care. Our aim is to use specially sourced ingredients from the UK and beyond, with a small batch process to create fantastic craft ales.
We specialise in cask and bottle conditioned ales, fusing the tradition of British hand pulled cask ales with new, craft styles and flavours.
Originally the Hilltop Brewery, but name changed due to another brewery with this name.

Handpull cask at the Ale Stop, Buxton. Dark brown and a little bit translucent with a small uneven khaki head and some lacing. Big chocolate malt aroma, touch of Marmite. Bittersweet aroma with yeasty umami flashes. More bitterness on the long finish. Medium body with almost no carbonation. Decent stuff and a new brewery for me.

Cask (gravity) at Smithifeld, Derby. Pours a bright lmeon yellow with minimal white head. Aroma has malts and bread rolls. In the mouth it is basically sweet but there’s also some underlying sharpness. Flavour has mainly citrus and lemon, plus some grains. Finish is a little dry. Overall a bit thin – flatters to deceive.
